A late afternoon visit to Chevington Pools, plenty of birds but as is always the case here everything is far too far away for pictures. 4 Pintail, a Greenshank, 500 plus Lapwing with a dozen Golden Plover and a single Ruff. Plenty of Black-headed Gulls but only small numbers of the larger Herring, Lesser Black and Greater Black-backed and only a single Common Gull.
I think I may have offended the photography gods, because I am unable to find a willing subject, any subject! Might have to sacrifice a goat or another photographer or something like that!
From here it was off inland for an evening of wining and dining with John and Margaret. An early evening walk had plenty of Common Buzzard with some very close views, a Jay or two and a vocal Willow Tit that didn't want to be seen and later sitting outside next to the chimnea Tawny Owl could be heard calling.
