Off today and my plan was simple; go to Cresswell and photograph Spotted Redshank. Well, part of my plan worked just fine, the rest of it blew away in the wind.
I arrived at Cresswell Pond at the same time as ADMc and we spent the next five hours just birding and generally chewing the fat, talking about birds, foreign travel, water levels, sea watching, bike rides, the internet and blogging, not necessarily in that order. For a Tuesday plenty of others stopped and joined in the chunter, so a good morning was had. No pictures at all, but birds seen made up for that; 14 Greenshank, 3 Spotted Redshank, 4 Black-tailed and 1 Bar-tailed Godwit, 3 Little Ringed Plover, a Peregrine, 4 Sparrowhawk, 1 Northern Wheatear, 1 Common Swift and lots of visible migration of Swallow and Sand Martin with a few House Martin
